INTERNET ADDICTION Going back to my childhood, when my addiction to internet was so severe that I stayed at home with my Ipad rather than going out with my friends, this was a period when I felt many of the negative effects that internet could cause you. Thankfully, this experience left me with the knowledge of how not to abuse it and use it appropriately. Some of these effects included emotional problems(depression, anxiety...), sleeping difficulties, and isolation from family and close friends. When individuals spend too much time in a world of like internet, where they can have everything they want, they start to depend on it. They get attached to this fake reality and start to believe that those games are the real world and when, they can’t have access to it, anxiety and depression symptoms start to come. When for example, someone tells them to stop playing these games and tries to explain them the cruel reality, they become so close- minded that s...

Ways of helping teens regulate Internet usage

Did you know that about 50% of teens admitted that they use Internet on a daily basis? There are some who did not say that they use Internet, or in other words, kept it for themselves. Now, imagine what the real number is. It could be 60%, 70%, or even 90%. There are many ways to help to stop Internet addiction in teenagers and I would like to share the 3 that I feel are the most effective. First way to help teens get rid of Internet addiction is setting time limits. Nowadays, teens use their phones 24 hours a day. Setting time limits will aid these kids.
