How to stop internet addiction.
Even if I am not very addicted to internet I don’t know what I could do without it.
It helps me a lot to review, to find translations or simply to talk with my friends.
But for many teens, using internet has become an addiction.

So firstly, what is internet addiction and how do you know you are addicted?
Internet addiction is described as an impulse control disorder, which does not
involve use of an intoxicating drug and is very similar to pathological gambling.
There are a lot of different signs which show that you are addicted to it such as
use of the Internet increasing day by day in order to feel happy, use of the
Internet in a way to escape from problems or to not have a bad mood, or even to
be too much preoccupied with the internet.

Addiction Disorder.) Being addicted to internet is not good at all and some of
the effects can be serious. It affects you, your family, your friends and even your
life in general (Illinois Institute for Addiction Recovery.). The more you are
addicted to internet, the less you will be with people and less you will have a
“real life”. You lose the sense of time. Some effects could be depression,
isolation, and even physical effect are seen such as headaches, Carpal Tunnel
Syndrome, Insomnia or even problem in the eyes.

talk about it to someone. After saying your addiction, you could go for example a
group or family group therapy, to put in place a time ( for example no phone after
20h and at meal times, or no game 2 days a week... ), there is also a phone
number to call to talk about it anonymously and to determine how much your
addiction is.

To finish, the best thing for you to do if you are addicted is to talk about it and not
to let it overwhelm you. If you believe in yourself you can stop your internet
addiction.
